# Register article view

> Increments the daily hit bucket of an article.

**Always answers 204**, including when the limit is exceeded, the caller
looks like a bot, or the slug matches nothing. This is telemetry fired from
a visitor's browser: an error in their console is a worse outcome than a
lost count, and a 429 would tell an abuser exactly where the ceiling is.
The write is dropped silently; the counter is what is being protected.

The article comes from `:slug` inside the resolved help center — never an
`articleID` from the caller, which would let anyone inflate any tenant's
numbers by guessing identifiers.
